Comparison of Pyrene Biodegradation Using Two Types of Marine Bacterial Isolates

چکیده

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) contaminants have toxic, carcinogenic, and mutagenic properties. Screening bacteria from different sources capable of carrying out the biodegradation is essential for mapping mobilization purposes applying them to polluted hydrocarbon environments. The study aims compare capacity PAH by two types isolated sources. method applied interaction between bacterial suspension pyrene-contaminated waste 30 days. Biodegradation products in organic compounds were analyzed using gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy (GC/MS) Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). analysis results found several indications performance biodegradation: pyrene degradation Bacillus licheniformis strain ATCC 9789 (Bl) against was relatively more dominant than Sphingobacterium sp. 21 (Sb) bacteria. percentage total product type Sb (39.00%), that Bl (38.29%). test (Bl Sb) similar form alcohol carboxylic acid compounds. There no significant difference

Biodegradation of Effluents from Dairy Plant by Bacterial Isolates

Micro flora of the effluents from a dairy factory in Tehran(Pegah Dairy Processing Plant) were isolated and screened for their ability to reduce the organic matter content and COD of the effluents. 10 bacteria were selected due to  reduction in COD content from the 4th to 6th day of incubation at 30 °C and  pH =11. Highest COD reduction were obtained by two isolates, BP3...

Bacterial Biodegradation of Crude Oil Using Local Isolates

An experimental study was undertaken to assess the efficiency of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtilis, and Acinetobacter lwoffi isolated from petroleum contaminated water and soil samples to degrade crude oil, separately and in a mixed bacterial consortium. Capillary gas chromatography was used for testing the effect of those bacterial species on the biodegradation of crude oil. Individual...

Biosurfactants from marine bacterial isolates

Biosurfactants are extracellular surface active compounds produced by bacteria, fungi and yeast. Most microbial surfactants are complex molecules, comprising different structures that include lipopeptides, glycolipids, polysaccharide protein complexes, fatty acids and phospholipids. In the past two decades, biosurfactants have gained increasing attention due to their useful properties such as b...
